Frostbite Race & Chili Party
As the last official Club-sponsored race of the season, the Frostbite is open to GPSC-owned or member-skippered boats and is sailed in a Jib and Main (JAM) configuration. For the first time in many years, the race will feature its original course layout. After completing the classic triangle, racers will head back out onto the lake for one final mark rounding—an opportunity to savor one last breath of the sailing season.
The competition doesn’t end on the water. Join your fellow Grosse Pointe Sail Club members and guests for our Annual Chili Party and Cook-Off at the Tompkins Center at Windmill Pointe Park! Bring your best pot of chili and compete for bragging rights and prizes, with the winners determined by popular vote. Beer, wine, soda, and hot dogs will also be served, and we’ll have a 50/50 raffle.
A few things to know:
- *Bringing chili? Please arrive by 3:00 PM.
- *Food will be served at approximately 3:30 PM, once the racers return.
- *Not bringing chili? $5–$10 per person is suggested, with a $5 minimum at the door.
- *Everyone gets a chance to vote for their favorite chili!
- *Whether you’re racing, cooking, or just coming to enjoy the food and company, we hope to see you there!
