Our GPSC website has a new look for 2017. We are actively working behind the scenes to bring capabilities to our website to improve communication with our members and add some conveniences that all members will appreciate.
Event Calendar. Our new event calendar will be used to capture all key events for the year. This includes google map integration so that you can find the location for events easily as well as associated phone number(s) for the event. Another key feature will be the ability to register for our events right from the calendar. A “how to” example will be provided in another upcoming post to help guide you.
Membership List. Our membership list will be moving online allowing our current members to review and edit membership information at any time. You will be receiving your login credentials so that you can access the member list at your convenience.
Ad Opportunities. We will be rolling out banner ads that our members can purchase to showcase their products or services right on the GPSC website. Pricing will be announced at a later time.
Responsive Design. We all know the popularity of mobile phones. Our site has had undergone a complete redesign which allows you to view the site on your mobile device in an optimized manner. Try it. Go to gpsc.org on your mobile phone.
Blog. Our site is implementing a blog to provide ongoing communication in a news release type format. The blog format allows us to capture our events and race results chronologically as the years’ progress.
Payment Processing. We will be implementing a secure process for you to pay your dues as well as cover fees associated with our events right from our website. No more sending checks or wondering who you need to contact to make payments.
Privacy. Our team will be working through password protect capabilities to keep certain sections of our site private. Only members will be able to view information the GPSC board would like to keep private.
Race Results. We are already working on a process for handling the race results for this upcoming season. The ideas will be shared during an upcoming GPSC board meeting for further review and approval.
Lastly, this site is for our membership. Your ideas and comments are welcome to help make this an integral tool for our members. You can send your comments by clicking here.
Last night we had an incredibly fun and informative Commodore’s Ball as we honored our new Commodore Peter Baumann with his wife Hedda, two daughters and one son-in-law. Past Commodore Behler did the toast and Commodore Baumann also shared his story and spirit for the upcoming new year. The new, current, and past GPSC Commodores were acknowledged. The new bridge and directors were also announced. Commodores from the local clubs also joined in on the festivities.
At the event, a photographer captured the evening. He has made the link available of the pictures. Here’s the link. Check out all the happy people.
Gary Jobson is a well-known, dynamic speaker and we want to share the opportunity to hear him speak with as many of our DRYA member clubs as possible. The presentation and dinner are March 3, 2017. See the attached flyer for additional details.
THE LOWER ST CLAIR LEUKEMIA CUP REGATTA WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY MAY 20, 2017. THE REGATTA PARTY AND AWARDS WILL BE THAT EVENING AT GLYC.
